🌊 Staying Bullish on Yourself: Navigating Uncertainty and Diving Inward

Before closing 2025, I took the courage to start a new project aligned to my values, beginning with becoming a certified scuba diver (still proudly amateur). I spent hours learning how to move, breathe, and simply be underwater.

The experience reminded me of something we often forget in our professional lives: the fundamentals matter. You’re always better diving with a partner, and the same is true in fast-paced environments, especially those close to the markets. Staying calm, managing risks, navigating uncertainty, thinking quickly, and balancing ambition with safety are skills that translate across both worlds.

Experiencing life below the surface for the first time left me in awe, and I’m already planning the next dive.

Around that same time, I stepped away from work. Giving myself space felt unfamiliar and uncomfortable. But for many immigrants, discomfort becomes a kind of second nature. I reminded myself that this moment was no different. Looking back, the timing was exactly right, whether you call it fate or God’s impeccable time.

For 16 years, I worked relentlessly as a generation-zero immigrant in the U.S.—intentional in every step, always going the extra mile, often working the extra hours. I carved a path for myself and, hopefully, for those coming behind me who are bold enough to want more than the status quo.

What I’ve learned is that the moments that feel like breaking points often become turning points. They force clarity. They create space. They open the door to your next chapter.

In a time of economic shifts, market uncertainty, and geopolitical instability, I’ve been reflecting on what remains within our control. And the truth is: we still have agency. Even in bearish seasons, there are always people who rise, not because conditions were perfect, but because they stayed intentional about how they showed up.
